Queenstown’s best wedding venues.
Our curated list of Queenstown’s very best wedding venues showcases the sheer variety of classy, unique locations to celebrate your big day.
Best garden.
Winehouse is located in a stunning gorge in the heart of Queenstown’s wine country. There is a quaint combination of perfectly manicured gardens and various nooks that allow for some lovely organic moments throughout the day. Also, the food is hands down some of the best on this list. It’s hard to beat the indoor outdoor flow of this venue and we just love how cohesive the whole experience is. With the fire going, it takes on a rustic, homely vibe and has made for a great backdrop for so many weddings over the years.
The Winehouse
Best winery.
Stoneridge estate
Stoneridge is a short, 20 minute drive from Queenstown Airport and boasts some incredible scenery. In addition to the vineyards, there are historic buildings used for both accommodation and as a venue. The intimate atmosphere really shines on film and the incredible grounds speak for themselves. This is one of the best all inclusive wedding spots in the area and it’s easy to see what makes this place so special. As an aside, the dance floor in this place gets super epic with all of the incredible lighting and acoustics so if you’re planning to bust a move or two, this might be the venue for you.
Best intimate.
Trelawn Place
Trelawn is hidden inconspicuously along the Shotover River and sits atop a bluff. The surrounds are a combination of meticulously cared for gardens and rugged Queenstown rocky bluffs and forest. The two on site corgis have made guest appearances in many films over the years and the best part about this place is that your accommodation is just a short stroll away from the ceremony spot overlooking the river. Whilst Trelawn can accommodate up to 70 guests, it is most commonly used for small weddings or elopements and is the gateway to Skipper’s Canyon.
hidden gem
Moke Lake
Moke Lake is a hidden gem. It’s reflective, mirror-like views are famous and make for the perfect backdrop for a ceremony or intimate gathering. Lesser known than its big sibling, Lake Wakatipu, it boasts a quieter vibe with a more rural outlook. Access is via a little gravel road that takes you through Ben Lomond station and once you reach the lakeside, you can see why couples seeking a more quintessentially Kiwi experience choose Moke Lake. There’s also a few glamping accommodations nearby as well as Moonlight Lodge, so you can have more of a retreat as part of your celebration.
